This has been a year of unprecedented events. It has caused a turbulent whirlwind of emotions that has left so many of us feeling as though we have whiplash from the dramatic range of feelings we’ve experienced in a short time span. Many times, I have heard the word “pause” used to describe this year and the time we’ve spent staying at home. So much has changed for me this year and due to personal events, Covid and distance learning, and I have not been able to pursue the goals I had intended to accomplish this year. Many times, I have felt like a failure. I’ve felt lost.
My daily practice has changed dramatically. I have been mostly absent from my website and Instagram – places that are near and dear to my heart and connect me with a community that I cherish. But every time I hear the word “pause,” I try to remember that is what I am doing. Not failing. Pausing. And during this pause, I am reevaluating, learning, growing and taking time to play. And though the future is far from clear, I have made some concrete decisions…
